CHAPTER 2055. ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

SUBCHAPTER A. GENERAL PROVISIONS

§ 2055.001. DEFINITIONS.  In this chapter:                                  

(1)  "Board," "department," "electronic government 

project," "executive director," "local government," " major 

information resources project," "quality assurance team," and " 

TexasOnline" have the meanings assigned by Section 2054.003.

(2)  "Institution of higher education" has the meaning 

assigned by Section 61.003, Education Code.

(3)  "Office" means the Electronic Government Program 

Management Office of the department.

(4)  "State agency" has the meaning assigned by Section 

2054.003, except that the term does not include a university system 

or institution of higher education or an agency identified in 

Section 531.001(4).

(5)  "Consortia project" means an electronic 

government project involving multiple state agencies and designed 

to establish common information resources infrastructure.

The speaker recognized Representative Fallon who introduced Father Michael Holmberg, pastor, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Frisco, who offered the invocation as follows:

Almighty and everliving God, bound to us by your ever faithful love, be attentive to the deepest needs of your people for we place all of our trust in you. We pray for those who represent your people. Seal their commitment of public service for the good of all your people. Ever purify the intentions for those who hold the trust of the public. Transform any self-interest into compassion for all the people of this great state as you make these men and women harbingers of our common future.

Empower each member of this assembly with your spirit so that as free people of your creation, they may always display truth and personal integrity in their actions. May this representative assembly, chosen and placed in service by your people, mirror the individual commitment to search out the ways of peace and harmony with others and establish a socioeconomic stability where justice will flourish for all people living in our state.

Through the deliberations and actions of these men and women, may a fervor and strength be demonstrated to carry us through difficult times with the flexibility to embrace authentic creativity. May the legal and social developments of this assembly help all citizens realize their full potential in your sight, for your wisdom is revealed to us and in us both now and forever. Amen.
